The New York Giants have re-signed wide receiver Ramses Barden to a one-year deal at the veteran-minimum salary, according to Pro Football Talk.

The Giants took advantage of the minimum-salary benefit, using a reduced cap charge for veteran players with four or more years of service. Barden falls into this category, and he’ll receive a $715,000 salary and $65,000 signing bonus. His cap hit for the Giants will only be $620,000.

Barden was a third-round selection of the Giants in the 2009 NFL Draft. As a result of using the minimum-salary benefit, New York won’t be able to re-sign Barden again until he becomes a free agent next offseason.

Barden has spent all four of his seasons in the NFL with the Giants. Last year he saw his most significant playing time with the team, appearing in 12 games. He had a big day as a fill-in, but otherwise he was mostly non-existent, catching 14 passes for 220 yards. In four years with the Giants the 27-year-old has 29 receptions for 394 yards.
