As if the 2012 accomplishments of Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson weren't impressive enough, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News is reporting that the Pro Bowler has confirmed he played through three broken fingers.
McCosky adds that Johnson has been attempting to straighten out his fingers (what?), adding that the wide receiver has thus far avoided offseason surgery.
It was reported earlier this offseason that Johnson had played through two broken fingers. Not sure if three makes a world of difference, but it's clear this guy -- and NFL players in general -- are tough.
Despite the damaged phalanges, Johnson was able to haul in 122 receptions for 1964 yards and five touchdowns last year.
