It appears that New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski
will be able to proceed with his recovery from a broken forearm, as yesterday’s procedure revealed the infection that was delaying progress has been cleared, according
to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Good news for #Gronk: He's out of surgery with new plates. As hoped, the infection is gone. No fifth surgery on the forearm, per source

Gronkowski underwent the fourth surgery on his forearm yesterday. It showed that the infection he was dealing with had cleared,
allowing doctors to replace the plate in his arm. This means that a fifth operation
won’t be necessary, as Gronkowski can now proceed rehabbing his arm injury.
If a fifth surgery would have been required, the start of
Gronkowski’s regular season would have been put into question. However, now
that the plate has been replaced, the tight end is hoping to be ready for the
start of training camp.
Double good news for Gronk: Training camp on time a possibility. And they can focus on his back now, hoping rehab is concurrent with forearm

Of course, Gronkowski isn’t completely out of the woods yet.
While the forearm has been garnering most of the attention, it’s recently been reported that he’s been dealing with a back injury. He’s expected to receive
continued evaluation on his back as he continues to rehab his arm.
