There are several veteran offensive lineman remaining on the
free agent market, and it appears talks have heated up for one of them. The San
Diego Chargers have made Baltimore Ravens free agent Bryant McKinnie an offer,
as negotiations are ongoing, according to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun.
McKinnie texted Wilson about San Diego, noting that “It’s nice out here.” He also said that nothing has been finalized between him and the Chargers as of yet.

McKinnie texted Wilson about San Diego, noting that “It’s nice out here.” He also said that nothing has been finalized between him and the Chargers as of yet.
The Chargers are just one of several teams that have
expressed interest in McKinnie. The Ravens haven’t shut the door on re-signing
the tackle, while the Miami Dolphins have kicked the tires – as they have with
every available offensive tackle.
At this point, if they don’t add anyone else this offseason,
the Chargers would be left with King Dunlap to protect quarterback Philip
Rivers’ blind side, while D.J. Fluker is slated for the right side of the line. Considering Dunlap’s performance – or lack thereof – with the Philadelphia
Eagles, San Diego seems poised to add McKinnie or another offensive lineman
before the season begins.
