Yesterday it was reported that San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree suffered a torn Achilles. While the injury is
significant, it’s not expected to sideline him for the entire 2013 campaign,
the team has announced.

Jim Harbaugh tells media @kingcrab15 has torn Achilles tendon but has had successful surgery. Crabtree not expected to miss full season.

After undergoing successful surgery, Crabtree is expected to
miss roughly six months of action. If all goes well, that puts him returning
sometime in late November.
This may sound quick for such a significant injury, but we’ve
recently seen other top players come back from Achilles’ tears in a matter of
months; most recently Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs.
Fellow wide receiver Demaryius Thomas suffered a similar injury,
and since returning he’s been a dynamic playmaker for the Denver Broncos. It’s
worth noting that it took Thomas 10 months to once again be a significant factor
for the Broncos.
