When the offseason began, it appeared that there was little
chance wide receiver Ramses Barden would return with the New York Giants.
However, Barden is heading to New York today and will take a physical with team
doctors. If all goes well, Ralph Vacchiano of The New York Daily News reports a
deal could be agreed upon by the end of the day.

The Giants selected Barden in the third round of the 2009
NFL Draft. The Giants have always been interested in retaining the wide out,
but they were only willing to offer one year at or close to the veteran minimum
considering he’s the team’s fourth-best receiver.
For this reason, Barden was interested in testing the open
market to see what else was out there. It turns out not much, as interest never
really developed. Now, the 27-year-old may wind up back with the Giants and in
a lesser role than he was hoping for.
Barden has been an impressive fill-in during his time with
the Giants, as he caught nine passes for 138 yards in a Week 3 contest last
season. However, he finished the campaign with only 12 receptions for 220 yards
over 12 contests.
