After meeting with the Washington Redskins yesterday, quarterback
Pat White is expected to sign a contract with the team today, according to Jim Corbett of USA Today.
White, 27, will sign a deal with the Redskins on Wednesday after meeting with team officials Tuesday night, a person familiar with the situation told USA TODAY Sports. That person spoke on the condition of anonymity since a deal had yet to be signed.
White received interest from several teams this offseason
following his impressive workout at the University of West Virginia. He visited
with the San Francisco 49ers last week, and he was slated to meet with the New
York Giants yesterday. However, he instead visited the Redskins, and he will
reportedly ink a new contract with the team today.
White entered the NFL with the Miami Dolphins, but he has
been out of the league for the past several years. Considering Robert Griffin
III is coming off of a major knee injury, White should see a significant amount
of playing time this offseason behind Kirk Cousins.
