Schefter adds that the veteran running back is nearly
recovered from the Lisfranc injury that shortened his 2012 season. After
suffering the injury on Oct. 7, Benson was lost for the remainder of the year.
2012 was Benson’s first year with the Packers, signing with
the team has a free agent prior to the season. Green Bay is once again in the
market for a running back, as the team as a whole struggled rushing the ball
last year. The Packers could target a running back in the upcoming NFL Draft,
but they may first want to see what Benson has to offer.
