Earlier in the offseason, it appeared that the Tampa Bay
Buccaneers were on the verge of reaching an agreement that would land them
All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis from the New York Jets. However, someone
close to Revis told Ian Rapoport of NFL.com that the cornerback is “not
optimistic” that a deal will get done with Tampa Bay.

From Total Access: According to someone who spoke to #Jets CB Darrelle Revis recently, he's "not optimistic" a deal with #Bucs gets done.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) April 5, 2013
According to Rapoport, Revis isn’t looking to leave the
Jets. However, he is looking to be paid like one of – if not the – top defensive players in the NFL,
and this is likely a demand that New York isn’t willing to meet. For this
reason, New York may take what they can get for the corner while allowing
another team to take the risk of signing him to a long-term extension.
In trade negotiations, the Jets are seeking a first-round
pick for Revis. However, considering Revis is returning from a significant
injury and wants to receive a heft contract extension, New York’s leverage is
diminished.
