Baltimore Ravens free agent offensive lineman Bryant McKinnie is visiting the Miami Dolphins training facility today, according to Jeff Darlington of NFL.com.
Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland told reporters recently that there was still a possibility the team reaches an agreement with the Kansas City Chiefs that would land them offensive lineman Branden Albert. However, he also hinted that he had a Plan B which provided the team flexibility.
It looks like McKinnie could be that Plan B.
The Dolphins have a void to fill at left tackle after former All-Pro Jake Long signed a free agent contract with the St. Louis Rams. Miami didn't address the need via the draft, leading to expectation that they would acquire a tackle through free agency.
McKinnie was a reserve for the Ravens last year during the regular season. After injuries, the veteran got a chance to start during the playoffs and made the most of it. He appears to be holding out for a starting role next season, and he's received interest from several teams, including the Ravens.
