The NFL is moving toward the read option across the board. Teams that do not have a quarterback who can run are falling behind (sans those with established, Super Bowl winning QBs). So it's no surprise the Tennessee Titans would like to see Jake Locker run more. However, they are concerned about him getting hurt.
According to Jim Wyatt of the Tennesseean, the team is looking at the possibility of having Locker run the read option more. They are running through scenarios, but the biggest concerns is the heightened potential for injury.

“Jake brings that dimension to the game, but you have to be smart about it. You want to take advantage of all the skills he does have, though it’s hard to survive if you’re running it all the time,’’ Munchak said. “So it has to be a happy medium, and that’s what we’ll try and find.”Locker has been a solid quarterback in the league. He played five games in his rookie year, but last season he got into 11 games for the Titans. During the 2012 season, Locker threw 10 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He passed for 2,176 yards last season.
