Free agent offensive lineman Bryant McKinnie told reporters –
including J. Michael of CSN Baltimore – that Baltimore Ravens head coach Jim
Harbaugh called him recently to say that the team is hoping to retain his
services.

While the Ravens have expressed interest in bringing
McKinnie back, he would not say that he expects to stay. However, he did seem
to be impressed by the fact that he received a call from “Harbs,” which was
followed up by a call from one of the offensive line coaches.
McKinnie lost his starting job last training camp and didn’t
start a regular season game for the Ravens. However, injuries during the
regular-season finale caused Baltimore to insert McKinnie back into the regular
rotation, having him see significant time at left tackle through the playoffs.
The Ravens have lost several free agents already this
offseason – including linebackers Paul Kruger and Dannell Ellerbe, safety Ed
Reed and cornerback Cary Williams – while future Hall of Famer Ray Lewis
retired.
