Elvis Dumervil became one of the most-coveted free agents available
late last week, and his market is continuing to develop. NFL.com took a look at
five potential landing spots for Dumervil, including his former team, the
Denver Broncos, as well as the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, Tampa Bay
Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins.

Denver obviously had interest in retaining Dumervil, and the
sides could still agree on a new contract. However, the release caused Denver
to be saddled with a $4.8 million salary cap hit, which could make re-signing
the pass rusher all the more difficult.
The Dolphins have already signed several high-profile free
agents this offseason. However, the team did lose out on offensive tackle Jake
Long, and they could use this money to pursue Dumervil. It doesn’t hurt that
the defensive end appears to have real interest in Miami.
Tampa Bay needs help at defensive end, and what better way
to sure up their line than add a player that led the NFL in sacks just a few
years ago. The Bills have yet to make a major splash this offseason, and
pairing Dumervil with Mario Williams and Mark Anderson would give Buffalo one
of the NFL’s best defensive lines.
New England could benefit from a conference rival’s loss by
adding Dumervil. The free agent would also help address the Patriots’
questionable pass rush situation.
