The New York Giants met with defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins
Friday, and it’s expected to be the first of several visits for the veteran.
Jenkins spent the past two seasons with the Philadelphia
Eagles after coming over from the Green Bay packers after the 2010 campaign.
Philadelphia cut the lineman, who totaled 22 tackles and 4 sacks in 2012, last
week.
The Giants recently cut a veteran defensive lineman of their
own, as they elected to part ways with Chris Canty. Beyond New York, Jenkins
has at least five other suitors, according to Tom Silverstein of the Journal
Sentinel. The 32-year-old is viewed more as a backup at this point, but his age
hasn’t prevented teams from expressing interest in him early in free agency.
