Former Denver Broncos pass rusher Elvis Dumervil was recently released by the team due to a technicality. Now a free agent, Dumervil
is garnering interest from several clubs, including the New England Patriots,
Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans, according to Aaron Wilson of The
Baltimore Sun.
Wilson notes that the Ravens hope to meet with Dumervil,
while the Patriots and Titans are also interested in the defensive end.
Baltimore has “serious interest” in Dumervil, according to a source, but no
contract negotiations have begun. While he was an end with the Broncos,
Dumervil would fill the position of outside linebacker with a team that runs
the 3-4 defense.
Dumervil was released by the Broncos after an error the team
is attributing to his agent. He’s currently going through the process of hiring
new representation, and after he does contract negotiations figure to pick up.
Dumervil finished the 2012 season with 11 sacks, and he
recorded an NFL-leading 17 sacks in 2009.
