UFA #Falcons CB Brent Grimes visits Cleveland,@foxsports.com has learned (sorry if someone else reported this)
— Alex Marvez (@alexmarvez) March 16, 2013
Grimes started 28 games for the Falcons from 2010-11, but he
started only one game last year. He missed a majority of the season due to a
torn Achilles’ tendon.
The Browns are hoping to pair Grimes with Joe Haden, as they
don’t appear interested in re-signing free agent Sheldon Brown. Cleveland has
already added to its defense via free agency this offseason, signing pass
rusher Paul Kruger and interior lineman Desmond Bryant.
Despite coming off a significant injury, Grimes is
considered to be one of the top cornerbacks on the free agent market. Beyond
the Browns, the Miami Dolphins also recently hosted Grimes, while some rumors
continue to connect the cornerback to the Falcons.
