Vikings rumors: No intention of trading Percy Harvin

Following the report of Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin’s run-in with coach Leslie Frazier, there has been speculation that the team will attempt to trade him this offseason. However, general manager Rick Spielman shot down these rumors at the NFL scouting combine and said the team has no intentions of trading Harvin, according to The Associated Press.

Spielman called Harvin a “dynamic playmaker” and said that he won’t even make take phone calls on him. This would certainly rule out the Vikings doing any sort of shopping of the wide receiver.

It’s been reported that Harvin will hold out into the 2013 season until he receives a new deal. He reportedly wants to be paid like the NFL’s top wide receivers, as he’s currently entering the final year of his contract.

Spielman wouldn’t get into details of negotiations, as he said he would be keeping contract talks internal and out of the public.

Harvin has dealt with injuries throughout his career, but he’s proven dynamic when healthy. Last season the 24-year-old caught 62 passes for 677 yards and three touchdowns for the Vikings.
