While the Kansas City Chiefs aren’t looking to give the No.
1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft away, head coach Andy Reid told
reporters, including Marc Sessler of NFL.com, that the team is willing to field
offers for the selection.
"Listen, yeah, we're going to evaluate everything," Reid said. "We're just not going to give it away. So we'd have to see what people throw our way. It's a pretty valuable pick, I'd say."
Entering this year’s draft, there is no clear pick for No. 1
overall like there was last year with quarterbacks Andrew Luck and Robert
Griffin III. There are questions surrounding which quarterbacks will be taken
in the first round of this year’s draft, much less with its first-overall pick.
Kansas City needs a quarterback, but it would seem a
significant reach to take one with the first pick. The most-likely candidate would
be Geno Smith, but he doesn’t sit atop the draft board of many.
