Ravens rumors: Baltimore will keep Joe Flacco

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is preparing for this weekend’s Super Bowl, no doubt the most important game of his career. However, Flacco is also preparing for another first, potentially hitting the free agent market. While Flacco is in the final year of his contract with the Ravens, team owner Steve Bisciotti is confident the quarterback will remain in Baltimore, according to Kareem Copeland of NFL.com.

"So Joe's going to be here. Trust in Ozzie."

Bisciotti noted that Peyton Manning went two years under the franchise tag before the Indianapolis Colts signed him to his long-term deal. Whatever happens with Flacco, Bisciotti is confident that general manager Ozzie Newsome will be able to get something done that will lock the quarterback up for the long haul.

Flacco has been inconsistent at times, but he’s helped the Ravens reach the playoffs every year since he was drafted, and now he will attempt to lead the team to their first Super Bowl victory since 2000.
