The Miami Dolphins are unlikely to re-sign running back
Reggie Bush, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Saturday on "NFL Total Access" that Bush is unlikely to be re-signed by the Dolphins, who view him more as a luxury than an essential building block.
According to Rapoport, the Dolphins view Bush as more of a
luxury than an essential piece. Miami has several other pending free agents,
and it appears they would be willing to let Bush walk rather than sign him to a
pricey contract.
Bush’s representatives have met with the Dolphins to get a
feel for the negotiation process. The back hopes to re-sign with the Dolphins,
but he is also seeking a competitive deal. As of yet, the two sides haven’t
been able to match up.
Considering his talent both as a rusher and return man, Bush
figures to garner significant attention on the open market. Several teams will
likely pursue the running back, but it’s been recently reported that the
Detroit Lions have specific interest in Bush.
