Robert Griffin III’s Injury Different from Adrian Peterson’s?

When it was discovered that Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III sustained an injury similar to the one Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson endured prior to his monster 2012 campaign, the comparisons started pouring in. However, Peterson told reporters, including Andy Fenelon of NFL.com, that it’s not fair to compare the injuries of the two players.

"That's not fair," Peterson told NFL.com's Jeff Darlington after the NFC's first Pro Bowl practice of the week Wednesday. "Everybody's body heals differently. That's something nobody is going to understand."

Peterson continued on to say that his body “just heals differently,” as he credited his genetics and not just his work ethic and intense rehab for his strong performance in 2012.

Griffin is also dealing with his second ACL surgery on his right knee, and his third such procedure overall. Still, Dr. James Andrews, the surgeon who performed Griffin’s procedure, said he expects the Redskins’ quarterback to be ready for the start of next season.
