Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall underwent
surgery to repair a fracture in his right pinkie finger, according to Mike Jones of The Washington Post.
Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall had surgery Tuesday to repair a fractured right pinkie finger, a person with knowledge of the situation said Wednesday.
Beyond repairing the fracture, Hall also had ligament damage
corrected and pins placed in his finger. The pins are expected to be removed in
two to three weeks, after which Hall will wear a split for roughly a month to
aid in the recovering period. Once he sheds the splint he’ll begin rehabbing.
Hall is believed to have played through the injury for about
half of the season, according to Jones. It wasn’t evidenced in his play, as the
nine-year pro recorded a career-high 95 tackles and with four interceptions.
Hall is owed a salary that could count $7.5 million against
Washington’s salary cap, but the veteran has said he’s willing to restructure
his deal in order to remain with the Redskins.
