The Philadelphia Eagles have put together a list of coaching
targets to replace the recently fired Andy Reid, and their search will
apparently begin with Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator and former San
Francisco 49ers coach Mike Nolan, reports Jay Glazer of FOX Sports.

Eagles have asked permission to interview Falcons DC Mike Nolan, plan to interview him Friday

Nolan is in his first season with the Falcons. The veteran
coach has taken a defensive unit that ranked 18th in points allowed
in 2011 to fifth this season.
Nolan also has previous head coaching experience in the NFL,
as he was with the 49ers from 2005-08. However, it wasn’t an especially
successful stint, as he went 18-37 over that span.
While the Falcons are in the playoffs, the club secured the
No. 1 seed and corresponding first-round bye weeks ago. For this reason, Nolan
will be available while his team enjoys some time off as the wild-card round
approaches.
