While the Ravens decided to move linebacker Ray Lewis from
the short-term injured reserve list to the 53-man roster, the future Hall of
Famer still isn’t going to suit up Sunday when Baltimore takes on the
Cincinnati Bengals, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.
The Ravens have moved Lewis from short-term injured reserve to the 53-man roster, but they have already announced that he will not play Sunday.
Lewis had to be activated and added to the team’s 53-man
roster this week if he was going to suit up during the playoffs. While he hasn’t
managed to retake the field during the regular season, the Ravens still hope
Lewis can return for the playoffs.
Lewis has been out since Week 6 when he sustained a triceps
tear. The injury was initially thought to be of the season-ending variety, but
the veteran linebacker is now poised to return for another round of postseason
play.
