While New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has been
back at practice for over a week now, coach Bill Belichick told reporters,
including Mike Whitmer of the Boston Globe, that Gronk won’t play in a game
until he’s cleared medically, which hasn’t happened yet.
"He did more last week than he did the week before, and we’ll see where he’s at today and tomorrow when we go out there, see what he can do," Belichick said on Wednesday, prior to the team's practice. "We’ll take it day-to-day, based on where he’s at. He’s moving along, not ready yet."
Ideally, Gronkowski will receive a few live game snaps prior
to the playoffs, according to Whitmer. The tight end broke his forearm during a
Nov. 18 contest against the Indianapolis Colts and has been sidelined since.
Prior to his injury he caught 53 passes for 748 yards and 10 touchdowns this
season.
