With Carson Palmer slated to miss the Oakland Raiders’
regular season finale due to his bruised lung, the question becomes which
backup, Matt Leinart or Terrelle Pryor, will get the start Sunday against the
San Diego Chargers. Steve Corkran of the Contra Costa Times reported yesterday
that Pryor and Leinart split first-team reps yesterday, adding even more
intrigue to the situation.

However, Pryor told Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle
that Leinart, not himself, received a majority of the first-team snaps
yesterday.
Leinart came in and replaced Palmer last weekend after he
sustained his injury. The former first-round pick completed 16 of his 32 pass
attempts for 115 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.
While Leinart has more experience than Pryor, the Raiders
have said that they’d like to increase the second-year player’s snaps late in
the season. This has led some to speculate that Oakland could give Pryor the
start in their meaningless season finale.
