The Pittsburgh Steelers placed three players on injured
reserve this week, including cornerback Ike Taylor, tight end Heath Miller and
running back Baron Batch, reports Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk.
The Steelers did just that, placing cornerback Ike Taylor on injured reserve, along with tight end Heath Miller and running back Baron Batch.
Taylor has missed the last three games due to an ankle
injury. There was a shot that the cornerback would have been able to return for
the playoffs, but now that the Steelers have been eliminated the team decided
to remove him from its roster.
Miller and Batch both suffered injuries in last weekend’s
loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Miller sustained an ACL/MCL/PCL injury, while
Batch broke his arm.
To replace Taylor, Miller and Batch on the 53-man roster,
the Steelers promoted tight end Jamie McCoy, safety Damon Cromartie-Smith and
linebacker Marshall McFadden from the practice squad.
