San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mario Manningham will miss
the remainder of the season after tearing his ACL and PCL during Sunday night’s
loss to the Seattle Seahawks, reports Albert Breer of NFL.com.
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mario Manningham is done for the season after tearing the ACL and PCL in his left knee during Sunday night's 42-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, a source who has spoken with the player told NFL.com's Albert Breer.
The injuries were announced following an MRI conducted on
Manningham’s knee Monday. X-rays came back negative following Sunday night’s game,
but the MRI revealed the season-ending injuries.
Earlier in the season, Manningham missed two games due to a
shoulder injury. The wide receiver finishes the year with 449 receiving yards
on 42 catches.
With Manningham out, the 49ers will ask veteran receiver
Randy Moss and rookie A.J. Jenkins, whose yet to catch a pass, to step up.
