It looks like the Washington Redskins will be without wide
receiver Pierre Garcon and safety Brandon Meriweather, who is considered a “long
shot” to play, when they take on the Carolina Panthers this Sunday, reports
Mike Jones of the Washington Post.

Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said safety Brandon Meriweather, who continues to be plagued by a knee injury, practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, but is a “long shot” to play this week.
Shanahan said that receiver Pierre Garcon (toe) did not practice and won’t try to play until after the bye.
The Redskins have their bye following this weekend’s contest
against the Panthers, so both players are likely to return after the extended
time off.
Beyond Garcon and Meriweather, linebacker Perry Riley (hamstring)
was limited at practice yesterday, while cornerbacks Josh Wilson (shoulder) and
David Jones (Achilles’ tendon) participated fully.
