New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski had screws
inserted into his broken forearm yesterday morning and says he hopes to return
in three to four weeks when the team takes on the Houston Texans and San
Francisco 49ers in back-to-back games, reports Albert Breer of NFL.com.

While this may be Gronk’s desired timeframe, it’s been
reported that a more likely period for recover is four to six weeks. The dynamic tight end sustained the injury Sunday during an extra-point attemptlate in the Patriots’ romp over the Indianapolis Colts.
With their upcoming game on Thanksgiving Day, the Patriots
released a Monday injury report. While they didn’t hold practice yesterday,
they did indicate who they believe would and wouldn’t have participated.
Wide receivers Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd and tight end
Aaron Hernandez continue to be listed as limited in practice. Welker and Lloyd
were able to play against the Colts, and while Hernandez was sidelined again due
to an ankle injury, he could return Thursday against the New York Jets.
