Greg Jennings’ groin issue is not going away. After seeing a specialist this week, the Green Bay Packers wide receiver has decided to go under the knife.
The procedure is scheduled for Oct. 30 and Jennings is
hoping to return later in the year, though there is no specific timetable at
this point. He told reporters that he wishes he didn’t attempt to play through
the injury after sustaining it Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks.
Jennings entered the year as a starting wide receiver for
the dynamic Packers’ offense, but he’s only caught 12 passes for 78 yards. In
his absence, James Jones and Randall Cobb are expected to continue to see increased
playing time.
