Giants Injury Report: Chase Blackburn, Mark Herzlich

New York Giants linebacker Chase Blackburn sustained a hamstring injury last weekend during the team’s contest against the Dallas Cowboys. The injury will keep Blackburn out of this Sunday’s matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he will be replaced by Mark Herzlich, reports Mike Garafolo of USA Today.

Herzlich will likely be in for starting middle linebacker Chase Blackburn, who is expected to miss the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a hamstring injury, according to a person informed of Blackburn's status.

Herzlich started two games for the Giants last season before suffering a high ankle sprain that sidelined him for the remainder of the year. Following his injury, New York signed Blackburn as his replacement.

While Blackburn has played well, it will be interesting to see if Herzlich, who’s been hampered by injuries over his short NFL career, can show he’s worth a roster spot if he gets the start this weekend.
