Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb will miss his
second straight game due to a rib injury and will once again be replaced by
John Skelton. Beyond Kolb, the Cardinals could also be without tight end Todd
Heap (knee) when they take on the San Francisco 49ers tonight.

It’s been a quarterback carousel in Arizona this season, but
it hasn’t been because of ineffective play. Skelton entered the season as the
team’s starter but was injured Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks. Kolb
replaced him and started for the Cardinals until being knocked out of last week’s
contest against the Buffalo Bills.
Neither quarterback is having an especially impressive
season, but Arizona did win three of the four games Kolb started heading into
last week’s contest against the Bills. Skelton is tasked with defeating the
vaunted 49ers in what would be his first full game of the season.
Heap, who has a history of injury issues, has only played in
two games for the Cardinals this season. He and fellow tight end Jim Dray
(knee) are listed as questionable, as is safety Kerry Rhodes (back). Defensive
lineman Darnell Dockett (hand) and Calais Campbell (quadriceps) are both
probable.
