Though both were listed as questionable entering Sunday, the
Buffalo Bills may have their two top running backs, C.J. Spiller and Fred
Jackson, when they take on the New England Patriots today.
When the initial injury report was released Friday, Bills
coach Chan Gailey told reporters that both Spiller and Jackson had a “legitimate”
chance to play today, according to Dan Hanzus of NFL.com.
Jackson, recovering from a knee injury, and Spiller, who’s
dealing with an ailing shoulder, were each able to practice Friday. It was Jackson’s third-consecutive practice
and Spiller’s second. While both could
see the field against the Patriots today, Hanzus is reporting that Jackson is
the more likely of the duo to suit up.
After Jackson’s week 1 injury, Spiller emerged as an
extremely productive running back. It
remains to be determined how the Bills will split carries between the two once
they both return to the field.
