There is still a chance that running back Matt Forte returns
to action when the Chicago Bears take on the Dallas Cowboys Monday night, according
to Dan Hanzus of NFL.com:
Forte was listed as questionable on the team's injury report released Saturday. Forte practiced this week and declared himself ready to return. Bears coach Lovie Smith has been more guarded, however, saying as recently as Wednesday that his running back "still has a long way to go."
Forte sustained his right ankle injury during the Bears’week 2 loss against the Green Bay Packers.
Many around the game thought the injury would cause him to miss
significant time, as it was initially labeled a high-ankle sprain, but Chicago
later refuted these reports. Even so, he
was expected to miss several weeks due to the sprain, so a return would be
considered a serious win for the Bears.
If Forte is unable to go tomorrow against the Cowboys,
Michael Bush will once again receive a majority of the careers for Chicago.
