There was a scary development for Houston Texans and fantasy
football fans alike yesterday when the team announced star running back Arian
Foster would be a game-time decision Sunday.
Texans coach Gary Kubiak told reporters, including Sean Bielawski of
CBSSports.com, that Foster’s fate for Sunday’s game would be determined leading
up to kick off after the 26-year-old missed Friday’s practice.
Foster left practice early Thursday due to a sore knee. He said he expects to play Sunday and described his injury as "around the knee area."
"It's just kind of a vague description of where the center point of the pain is,” Foster said.
Kubiak said that Foster underwent an MRI Thursday that didn’t
reveal anything serious. He believes his
running back could have practiced if “pushed,” but he noted that Houston is “going
to be smart with him.”
If Foster is unable to go Sunday for the Texans opener with
the Miami Dolphins, they’d turn to backup running back Ben Tate, with Justin
Forsett taking over as the club’s second running back.
