After Sunday night's ugly loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said Matt Schaub is still the team's starting quarterback. He reiterated that point yesterday, but he added a line that leaves the door open for him to potentially make a change at the quarterback position. Kubiak told reporters -- including John McClain of the Houston Chronicle -- that he's "evaluating everything to see what gives us the best chance to win."

"He is, but I'm evaluating everything to see what gives us the best chance to win," Kubiak said, via the Houston Chronicle. "I'm trying to help him (Schaub) push him through it so our team can push through it. We're all disappointed because we're having to overcome too much."
At this point, Kubiak doesn't sound like he's decided Schaub gives the Texans the best chance to win. It's hard to argue that T.J. Yates does, but there's clearly discontent around the team when it comes to their quarterback situation.
Schaub has been flat out bad over the past few weeks, leading to three consecutive losses for the Texans. Two of those contests were drubbings at the hands of the 49ers and Ravens, while Schaub threw a pick-six against the Seahawks which accounted for the difference in the game.
