Lions’ Calvin Johnson inactive with knee injury

The Detroit Lions have listed wide receiver Calvin Johnson as inactive for today’s contest against the Green Bay Packers. It’s a surprising announcement considering Johnson was expected to suit up for today’s game throughout the week despite his injury.

Johnson appeared on the team’s injury report with his knee injury, which limited him at practice throughout the week. Still, the sentiment was that the injury wasn’t severe enough to keep him from playing against the Packers.

This is obviously a huge blow to the Lions and fantasy owners of Johnson alike, as Megatron is arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL. The Lions are now without their No. 1 and No. 2 wide receivers, as Nate Burleson is also inactive with a broken arm. The Lions will have to depend on receivers Kris Durham and Ryan Broyles, though he’s questionable as well, along with running back Reggie Bush and their tight ends.

One Response to Lions’ Calvin Johnson inactive with knee injury

  1. This is where the Lions prove how good they are. If they are as good as we feel they are, they can win without Calvin, though he will be sorely missed. Reggie isn't gonna have two deep safeties today.
