Despite promising to be back for Week 6, New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin announced Tuesday that running back David Wilson has been ruled out of this weeks edition of "Thursday Night Football" against the Chicago Bears.
Wilson tweeted after Sunday's 36-21 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles that he was feeling good and would "be back next week." However, Coughlin said Monday that Wilson experienced "tingling" in his neck after taking the hit that forced him to exit Sunday's game after the last play of the first quarter.
In order to add depth at running back, the Giants have re-signed Da'Rel Scott just one week after releasing him. Scott and fellow running back Brandon Jacobs are expected to see the majority of touches in the running game Thursday night. Jacobs and Scott hope to give a much needed spark to the Giants rushing attack which has ranked dead last in the NFL through five games, with less than 60 yards per game on the ground.
To make room for Scott on the 53-man roster, the Giants have waived defensive end Justin Trattou.
