Cowboys' Miles Austin improving; questionable to play

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin missed yesterday's practice as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury. The ailment kept him out of last weekend's contest against the San Diego Chargers, but head coach Jason Garrett told reporters -- including Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas -- that Austin is showing signs of improvement.
"Miles is a good player and he's off to a really good start," Garrett said. "He's been as healthy as he's been the last couple of years, up until hurting the hamstring and being out last week. He's made a lot of plays for us, underneath plays, a couple of plays down the field, he's certainly a good player. He starts and he has a big role on our team for a reason."
Austin has played in three games this season, catching 15 passes for 125 yards. Ten of those receptions and 72 receiving yards came during the team's opening week defeat of the New York Giants.

Beyond Austin, linebacker Justin Durant (groin) and defensive end George Selvie (concussion) also missed practice yesterday. Defensive end DeMarcus Ware has been working through a neck injury, but he was in full pads for Wednesday's session.
