Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris suffered a concussion in their win against the Dallas Cowboys yesterday. It appeared the injury happened late in the first half when he was trying to make a tackle on DeMarco Murray. Harris was evaluated during halftime and was officially ruled out for the rest of the game. Harris must pass the concussion protocol for the NFL before he is eligible to play again.
Chris Harris has been starting in place for Champ Bailey, who has missed all of the season so far with a foot injury. Harris has played well in Bailey's absence and it will be a key loss if Harris misses an extended period of time. The Broncos defense struggled to stop the Dallas Cowboys offense before creating a turnover late in the 4th quarter to preserve the win 51-48.
The Broncos face the Jaguars this week and open up as 28 point favorites. The Broncos may be able to give Harris an extra week to recover from the concussion even if he passes the concussion tests. We will find out later this week if Harris can pass the tests.
