The Atlanta Falcons are off to a disappointing 1-3 start and already sit three-games back of the 4-0 New Orleans Saints in the NFC South. While injuries are a huge part of the game, it seems to be a recurring theme in Atlanta.
According to NFL.com, left tackle Sam Baker and linebacker Akeem Dent have officially been ruled out of Monday night’s contest against the New York Jets. Dent left Sunday’s game, a 30-23 loss to New England with an ankle injury and Baker also exited early with a knee injury.
The Falcons still don’t know if starting running back Steven Jackson will be available this week but most signs are pointing to him missing a third straight game. Fortunately, the Falcons have a bye week in Week 6 and could use that time to lick their wounds.
We’ll have more with the Falcons’ injury report closer to game time.
