UPDATE: Bills’ Injury Update: E.J. Manuel, Stevie Johnson

The Buffalo Bills lost their clash in Cleveland Thursday night as the Browns stole their lunch money and rallied to beat the Bills 37-24.  The Bills not only lost the game, but they added to their already large list of injured players.  John Breech of CBSSports reports, key offensive players went down for the Bills.

UPDATE 10/4/2013 3:00 PM ET:

Darin Gantt of NBCSports reports that Manuel suffered a sprain of the lateral collateral ligament.  Buffalo Bills head coach, Doug Marrone, stated via twitter that Manuel would miss “a few weeks.”

Look for the Bills to start looking for a quarterback to come in and bring some experience to the Bill's huddle so rookie Jeff Tuel does not toss his cookies every Sunday.

Quarterback E.J. Manuel went down in the third quarter after taking a smashing hit from Browns safety Tashaun Gipson.  Gipson hit Manuel on the right knee and the rookie did not return to the game.

Manuel grabbed his right knee as soon as he went down. It was a clean hit, nothing dirty about it.  It was a hard, fast hit directly on Manuel’s knee that looked like it did major damage.  Manuel sported a knee brace on his trip back to Orchard Park.  Bills head coach, Doug Marrone, told reporters after the game that it is at minimum "a sprained knee."  If Manuel walks away from this hit with only a sprained knee, he should consider himself lucky.

Wide receiver Stevie Johnson left the game after the first quarter with an apparent back injury. Johnson did return for one play in the second quarter.  He did not return after that play.  X-rays after the game revealed no damage and he will be evaluated more over the course of the week.
