The Washington Redskins welcome the Detroit Lions to the nation's capital this Sunday. After a disappointing 0-2 start, the Redskins find themselves desperate for a win, not only to prevent their season from getting out of hand, but also to instill some confidence in a team that looks deflated.
The good news for the 'Skins is they come into this game relatively healthy for the most part. Here is your Week 3 injury report for the Washington Redskins.
Free safety Brandon Meriweather, who was fined $42,000 for a helmet to helmet hit on Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy, sustained a concussion on a similar hit to backup running back James Starks. Meriweather was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday but was a full participant on Friday. Meriweather's progress through the week is a promising sign that he will play, but he will have to pass the NFL's concussion protocol before he can suit up for Sunday's game. He is listed as questionable.
Kicker Kai Forbath missed practice this week with a right groin injury. Forbath is questionable for Sunday's game. If Forbath can't play then John Potter will have to handle kicking duties for the second straight week.
Defensive end Stephen Bowen (knee) was limited in Thursday's practice but fully participated on Friday. Bowen is listed as questionable. Fellow defensive end Kedric Golston (abdomen) was limited Thursday, and fully practiced Friday. He is questionable for Sunday's game. Wide receiver Leonard Hankerson was a limited participant in Friday's practice. Hankerson is also listed as questionable.
Nose tackle Barry Cofield fully participated in practice this week and will no longer have to wear the padded club that he sported on his fractured right hand in the first two games of the season. Cofield is listed as probable and will play Sunday barring any setbacks.
