Fred Davis added to Redskins injury report

The Washington Redskins have made a last minute addition to their injury report. Tight end Fred Davis is now questionable for Sunday's Week 3 matchup against the Detroit Lions with an unspecified ankle injury, NFL.com's Kevin Patra reports.

Davis has started off very slow in 2013 after his 2012 season was cut short when he tore his Achilles tendon in Week 7 against the New York Giants. Through two games this season, Davis has recorded only three catches for 25 yards. He was benched in the second half of Sunday's 38-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers after missing several blocking assignments.

Regardless of whether or not Davis plays Sunday, rookie tight end Jordan Reed will likely have an increased role in the Redskins' offense moving forward. Reed, who was drafted by the Redskins in the third round of last April's draft, has shown tremendous upside in his first two games as a pro. So far, the rookie tight end has caught eight passes for 56 yards. As Reed and quarterback Robert Griffin III continue to develop chemistry with one another, Reed could end up being one of the great sleeper picks of the 2013 NFL Draft.
