Roddy White hasn't played a down since August 15th when he suffered an ankle sprain against the Baltimore Ravens. Fortunately it was not a high ankle sprain which generally is considered more severe and his availability for Week 1 is no longer in doubt according to D. Orlando Ledbetter.
We had mentioned earlier this week that there was a little uncertainty of White playing in Week 1. Most veterans such as White get the luxury of taking time off in the preseason and most of the time players are held out for precautionary reasons. White will continue his iron man streak after playing in 128 consecutive games of his eight-year career, all with the Falcons.
Also expected back for Week 1 is kicker Matt Bryant and linebacker Stephen Nichols.

“I think all of those guys are on schedule to get back with us and be playing this week,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said. “That’s what we are anticipating at this point in time."White's health is vital to the Falcons who look to get the taste of their 28-24 NFC Championship game loss out of their mouth as we enter the new season. White and the rest of the Falcons high powered offense looks primed and ready for the Saints in Week 1.
