Seneca Wallace Claims He's Not Retired After All

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Seneca Wallace was said to be retired after not traveling with the team, to the preseason finale against the San Diego Chargers. Apparently it was just a case of a player not being happy with his current scenery. Don Yee Wallace's agent provided a quote to NFL.com stating that his client wants to continue to play professional football.

My understanding is that Seneca will continue his football career, but there was a discussion about his situation particularly with the 49ers.
Really? A 33 year old quarterback with 21 career starts in nine NFL seasons is not happy with his position on the defending NFC champions? It almost seems as though for a brief moment Wallace thought he was a completey different player. Wallace has not played since the 2011 season when he played in six games for the Cleveland Browns throwing for two touchdowns and two interceptions. His complaint against the 49ers is that they brought him in for no other reason than to get backup quarterback Colt McCoy to take a pay cut Wallace told the Des Moines Register.

I realized right away the reason they brought me here was to get Colt to take a pay cut.
If Wallace's claims are true he should learn a lesson from it, realize like McCoy did that playing in this league especially for a Super bowl favorite is an honor not a right. Don't be surprised if you read about an official retirement later this season when Wallace realizes he quit on the only opportunity he had to make an NFL roster.
