Buccaneers’ Tynes not Healing Properly

Two time Super Bowl Champion Lawrence Tynes has quite the unique injury.  Tynes is battling a staph infection that has kept him out for the majority of the preseason and could possibly end up on the injured reserve list according to FOX Sports’ Mike Garafolo.

A day after head coach Greg Schiano stated that Tynes along with guard Carl Nicks were both “responding well” to treatment for a staph infection, Tynes’ wife Amanda decided to put a halt to that rumor rather quickly.
Tynes has spent the past six seasons with the Giants winning Super Bowl XLII and XLVI.  He was brought in to Tampa Bay this offseason after kicker Connor Barth suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon injury.  With Tynes on the shelf the Bucs brought in former Buffalo Bills placekicker Rian Lindell to provide competition with rookie Derek Dimke.

With final cuts quickly approaching, Tynes may find himself out of a job soon…at least in Tampa.
