Darrelle Revis appears to be ready to make his Buccaneers debut against the Jets team that traded him this past offseason. As mentioned earlier this week it appeared that Revis had the possibility of playing the Bucs’ final preseason game but that idea was squashed.
Revis did not appear in any of the Bucs’ four preseason games, but head coach Greg Schiano believes that his No. 1 Cornerback will be ready to go on September 8th barring any setbacks.

Barring no setbacks, the plan is for CB Darrelle Revis to play in the season opener against the Jets.Revis suffered a torn ACL early in 2012 and to be able to play in Week 1 is great news for the Buccaneers who gave Revis a six-year $96 million contract after trading away their 2013 first-round pick and a conditional 2014 pick for the three-time All-Pro. According to Jim Corbett with USA Today, it appears that Geno Smith will start for the Jets in Week 1 while Mark Sanchez recovers from a shoulder injury he suffered in the Jets’ third preseason game.
