Bears' Brandon Marshall says he'll play Week 1

Brandon Marshall was one of the best wide receivers in the league last season, prompting praise across the NFL and high selections in fantasy drafts everywhere. He enters the year with hefty expectations, but there are concerns involving his lingering hip injury. While he's currently on a four-day hiatus from the team, during which he'll have his hip re-examined, Marshall responded to one of his Twitter followers confirming that he will indeed suit up for Week 1 of the regular season.

Marshall underwent hip surgery in January, and at the time most expected him to be ready for the start of the 2013 season. However, he's said that he's not where he wants to be as far as his recovery goes, and it's clearly frustrated the dynamic wide out.

The Bears have continued to downplay the situation, and Marshall is expected to play Week 1. Still, it's hard to tell if he'll be restricted by his hip injury and how long it will impact him into the new campaign.

His comments and the continued checkups on his hip have provided a cause for concern. The Bears are hoping for good news following the weekend break Marshall is receiving for "personal reasons."
